In reflecting on the last year of my photography journey, I am humbled and honored to be a part of your lives and I’m grateful that you chose me! Thank you for trusting me, thank you for allowing me into your family even if only an hour at a time. I have so many favorites of 2017 that the blog post would probably run over it’s limit of images, so I chose as many as I could that just really spoke to me. I know I’ve missed a few, so if your session is not represented here, it’s not on purpose.
I think the biggest growth for me was a direct result of a class I took in April that changed so much about my photography, how I view my work and how I work with my subjects. I took the class the first run in April and then was an Alumni Helper in the second run in November. As a photographer and as a person, this class was life changing for me. For my photographer friends (rather you are in business or not) and are looking for something that is missing in your work, this is the class will change everything Connected: Images with Heart.
My goals for 2018 include working to have more connection with my subjects but also create work that you as my audience connect with. In February, I will attend my first Click Away Conference and I’m so excited to learn more to incorporate in my work. I also want to shoot more personal images and actually do something with them, like build some albums! I am going to carry my camera with me more, so I can have it to shoot what moves me as I go about my day. I invite you to be a part of 2018 with me as a client and/or as a follower: Facebook and Instagram @letthelightinphotog
So here are some favorites from 2017! Images that speak to me when I look at them, and make my heart skip a beat. I hope they do for you as well!
