What Happens when your Photographer gets in front of the Camera? | My Own Family Session

This summer while on vacation, again I hired a professional photographer for our family portraits. We do family portraits every year but this time, I was finally able to put into words what it means to me as a photographer myself to be in front of the camera instead of behind it.

I got to feel what I always hope that my clients feel when they look at their images for the very first time. That sense of love that you get when you see them, excitement, happiness…I don’t even have a word that correctly describes the emotion, it makes your eyes well up a little bit, but the good kind of welling up.

While this is my own family, I also get a very similar feeling when I work with you as my clients and I get to help you capture your own loved ones at this point and time in your lives. Creating images that move you in the same way, stirs all of those emotions in my heart too. I often find myself just smiling as I admire your images, not because of how they look, but because of how they make me feel and how I hope they make you feel.

I want the same for you. I want you to feel all of that in 20, 30, 40 years from now. I want you to look back and say “oh my gosh, look at us! Look at how happy we are!”

It is my privilege to serve you in this way, in every session!

I can’t wait to create more with you as my clients!

Much love,
Wendy
